The Football Association of Wales has an exceptional line-up of speakers for the 2025 National Coaches Conference, taking place across 24 and 25 May online and at Celtic Manor Resort & Dragon Park, Newport. Leading this year’s keynote speakers is two-time FIFA Women’s World Cup winner and double Olympic Gold Medallist Brandi Chastain.
The California native, who earned 192 caps for the United States Women’s National Team across a distinguished 16-year international career, will deliver a special theory session sharing her insights on leadership, resilience, and winning culture in football.
The National Coaches Conference is the FAW’s flagship annual event dedicated to coach education and professional development. It brings together top-level coaches, technical experts, and football professionals from around the world. The conference offers a mix of keynote speeches, theory sessions, and practical workshops, providing a unique opportunity for coaches to gain insights from elite minds in football and share best practices.

Chastain rose to global fame after netting the decisive penalty in the 1999 World Cup final against China. She was named in the USWNT All-Time Best XI in 2013 and inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame in 2017. A trailblazer both on and off the pitch, her club career spanned the United States and Japan, where she became the only foreign player named in the Nadeshiko League’s Best XI and was voted her team’s MVP.
Since 2014, Chastain has also contributed to the game as a coach, leading Bellarmine College Preparatory School to a CCS Open Division Championship title in 2018. Her appearance at the conference promises to offer invaluable insight into elite performance, player development, and the evolving landscape of football.
