U19 EURO Elite Round Report: See who reached the finals

Cymru now know the seven teams that will join them when they host their first men’s age-group major tournament later this year following the completion of the Elite Rounds.

Led by Chris Gunter, Cymru will compete alongside seven of Europe’s top sides in the 2026 UEFA European Under-19 Championship finals in North Wales.

Croatia, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Serbia, Spain and Ukraine have all secured their places in the final tournament after topping their respective Elite Round groups last week. The winners of the seven mini-tournaments progressed to join hosts Wales in the competition.

The final tournament draw will now take place on Thursday 16 April (12pm BST) at Wrexham University. Matches will be played between 28 June and 11 July, with the tournament also serving as a qualifier for the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.

The 28 teams involved in the Elite Round progressed from the autumn qualifying stage, marking the final edition under the current U19 EURO format. From the 2026/27 season onwards, qualification will move to a new three-stage system.

The first phase will begin in spring 2026, with the opening two rounds split into leagues featuring promotion and relegation, while the eight-team final tournament format will remain unchanged.
