FAW remembers Herbie Williams

It is with deep sadness that the Football Association of Wales has learned that Herbie Williams has passed away.

Williams was capped three times by Cymru between 1964 and 1971. During that time he played twice against Greece and in a match against Romania. In each of those three appearances, Williams payed in different positions – inside forward, left half and centre half. He was also capped three times for Cymru U23.

For Swansea City, Williams won the Welsh Cup twice in over 600 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 129 goals.

The thoughts of everyone at the FAW are with Herbie Williams’ family and friends at this sad time.
