South Wales Sports Grounds (SWSG) and the Football Association of Wales (FAW) are delighted to announce the continuation of their partnership, reaffirming a shared commitment to developing quality football facilities across Wales.
Building on an established relationship, the partnership brings together SWSG’s expertise in sports ground design, construction and maintenance with the FAW’s ambition to support the game at every level.
Quality playing surfaces are central to the development of Welsh football, supporting everything from grassroots training and community participation to competitive fixtures. Through their continued relationship, SWSG and the FAW aim to help clubs and communities benefit from facilities that meet the demands of the game and encourage more people to take part.
SWSG brings extensive experience across the full lifecycle of sports grounds, from initial design and construction through to renovation and ongoing maintenance. This understanding of both project delivery and long-term pitch care will continue to underpin its work with the FAW.
Sean McDermott, Managing Director of South Wales Sports Grounds, said: “We’re delighted to build on our relationship with the FAW and continue supporting the development of football facilities across Wales.
“Through our work with clubs and communities, we see first-hand the difference a quality playing surface can make, giving more people the opportunity to train, compete and enjoy the game. Our team brings extensive experience in sports ground design, construction and maintenance, and we’re proud to put that expertise to work alongside the FAW.
“We look forward to the next chapter of our partnership and helping to deliver facilities that serve Welsh football for years to come.”
Ceri Maund, FAW Head of Commercial, said: “We are really pleased to continue our relationship with South Wales Sports Grounds, who have been a trusted partner of the FAW for multiple years.
“SWSG’s expertise in sports ground design, construction and maintenance is essential to the continued success and development of Welsh football – from our international teams all the way through to the grassroots game.
“The work that SWSG do not only creates more playing opportunities, but also enables players to perform at their best and enjoy their experiences. We look forward to continuing our work together to support the growth of football across Wales.”
The continued partnership reflects a shared focus on the long-term future of Welsh football and the facilities that enable players, clubs and communities to thrive.
