The 2023/24 JD Welsh Cup reaches its conclusion on Sunday, as Connah’s Quay Nomads go head-to-head with current holders TNS at Rodney Parade (KO 17:25).
This will be the first time that Rodney Parade, the home of EFL club Newport County, has hosted the JD Welsh Cup Final, and only the second time the Final has been held in South Wales since the 2010/11 season.
The two sides last met in the JD Welsh Cup Final at The Rock back in 2019, when TNS came out 3-0 winners to lift the famous trophy.
Below, you will find vital supporter information that provides advice and all the details you’ll need to make your visit to Rodney Parade an enjoyable one.
It is advised that supporters arrive early on matchday to enjoy the pre-match entertainment, and follow the advice below.
Fan Zone
The JD Welsh Cup Final Fan Zone, located within the grounds of Rodney Parade and free to enter, will open from 14:00pm, with DJ Kay Russant opening the show. Iconic Welsh samba band Samba Galez will get the atmosphere going with their roving performances, before up-and-coming Newport-based band The Rogues take to the stage with their modern, indie-rock sound.
Supporters can also enjoy food & drink from the local vendors, and even have the chance to get their photo taken with the iconic JD Welsh Cup trophy and learn more about the history of the competition at the JD Welsh Cup Experience, located in the fan zone marquee.
The fan zone will be the perfect start to the day for the whole family, with face painting and children’s activities and competitions also available.
If you’re planning to get to the ground even earlier, you can enjoy some live football as Newport Junior League’s Under 8 Mini’s Festival kicks off at 1pm on the Rodney Parade ‘cabbage patch’.
Tickets
If you have purchased tickets to the match in advance, you will need to download and use the Cymru Tickets app to access the stadium.
Tickets are still available to buy in advance by clicking here, priced at £8 for adults and £5 for juniors.
Tickets will also be available at the gate on matchday, but for increased prices of £15 for adults and £10 for juniors.
Important Transport Information
The ABP Newport Marathon Festival is taking place on the same day as the JD Welsh Cup Final, creating an incredible atmosphere within the city of Newport on a true day of Welsh sport.
Supporters are advised that road access to the city centre is restricted and parking may be limited, however the road closures should be re-open a few hours ahead of kick-off.

Rail services will be running as normal, with Newport station a short 10-minute walk from the stadium.

Audio Descriptive Commentary
The FAW will be offering a free-to-use audio description commentary service for blind and vision-impaired spectators at the match provided by Alan March Sport Ltd. This will be available to fans with trained audio describers keeping up with play to the second to ensure listeners know exactly where the ball is and what is happening on the pitch.

You will need to provide your name and phone number and you will be able to collect your receiver at the ticket booth prior to kick-off.
It will be possible to request a receiver on the day by speaking to a steward at the stadium. Please note receivers are subject to availability. Users are required to bring their own headphones to ensure both comfort and hygiene.
Sensory Pack
Fans with sensory needs attending the match can apply for a free FAW Sensory Pack. The packs have been designed to help fans, particularly those with autism, who attend matches, to enhance the matchday experience, making it more comfortable and enjoyable. Each pack is presented in an official FAW drawstring bag and contains a disability awareness lanyard, as well as noise-cancelling headphones, a football fidget spinner, a poppet sensory keyring, and a FAW football soft stress ball.
All sensory packs will need to be pre-booked and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Amnesty International Football Welcomes Refugees Campaign
The Football Welcomes programme celebrates the contribution players with a refugee background make to the beautiful game, and the positive role football can play in bringing people together and creating more welcoming communities.
Everyone wants to live in a place where they feel safe and welcome. For people fleeing conflict and persecution, football can play a hugely important role in helping to settle into a new country and culture, to make friends, learn the language and get to know the local area.
Football clubs are at the heart of many communities – they unite people on and off the pitch and give many a sense of belonging. Every April, football clubs across the UK come together to celebrate the contribution players from a refugee background make to the game.
The FAW would like to show our support to this campaign, and have invited Newport City of Sanctuary as our guests to the JD Welsh Cup Final. Please ensure to give them a very warm welcome.
