Swansea City were the biggest winners of the Bute Energy Welsh Cup Quarter-Finals as they triumphed 6-0 over Llandudno at Llandarcy.
Yzzy Taylor’s side led by two goals at half-time as captain Jess Williams scored from Chloe Chivers’ corner, before Eilish Mitchell found Maisie Miller who finished cleverly in the box.
Taite Trivett netted from close range inside the first minute of the second half to make it 3-0, while Llandudno defender Jess Mills turned Miller’s cross into her own net soon after.
Trivett made it a brace for herself shortly before the hour mark by cutting in from the left and firing into the bottom corner. The scoring was completed by substitute Maddie Murray with 15 minutes remaining as she received Ellie Lake’s long ball and showed composure to finish past Megan Robinson.
Cup holders Cardiff City booked their spot in the Semi-Finals with a 3-0 home win over The New Saints, in the only all top-flight affair of the round.
The Bluebirds made the perfect start to the contest as Ffion Price scored directly from a corner with just three minutes on the clock.
TNS had the chance to equalise just after the hour mark when Caitlin Chapman was fouled in the box, but captain Lia Lewis fired wide from the resulting penalty.
The Saints were made to regret that miss as Cardiff scored twice in the space of two minutes to seal victory in the closing stages. Another Price corner was this time headed in by Nieve Jenkins, before Maddison Perrott set up Laura Curnock to finish past TNS debutant goalkeeper Orla Howard at her near post, via the crossbar.
Last season’s runners-up Wrexham secured safe passage to the last four with a 5-0 victory away at Carmarthen Town.
Faye Knox continued her impressive form by heading home from Ava Suckley’s cross to open the scoring after 13 minutes, while Katie Barker doubled the advantage in the 35th minute when she lofted the ball over Carmarthen goalkeeper Ffion Ashman.
Suckley added her name to the scoresheet in similar fashion on the stroke of half-time, dinking the ball over Ashman after being played in by Phoebe Davies.
Suckley grabbed her second and Wrexham’s fourth on 67 minutes when she turned home Mariam Mahmood’s low cross, before victory was sealed in stoppage time as Suckley turned provider for Knox to score her second of the afternoon.
The Quarter-Final tie between Cwmbran Celtic and Briton Ferry Llansawel was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. A new date for the fixture will be announced in due coure.
