The New Saints 0-1 Cardiff City
- Bute Energy Welsh Cup Semi-Final
- Park Avenue, Aberystwyth
- Sunday, 16 March
Bute Energy Welsh Cup holders Cardiff City will defend their trophy at Rodney Parade following a 1-0 win over The New Saints in the semi-final.
After three close encounters already this season, this contest was always going to be tight at Park Avenue and both sides had chances in the first half as Cardiff goalkeeper Ceryn Chamberlain denied Molly Havard and Lexi Jones, while Fiona Barry and Ffion Price both went close for the Bluebirds.
Barry again went close two minutes after the break when she raced down the left flank and released a shot which struck the crossbar.

The forward was not to be denied much longer though as she finally found the breakthrough in the 63rd minute, cutting inside from the right and curling a stunning strike from distance over Megan Bowen in the Saints’ goal.
Cardiff went in search of a second goal and came closest to doubling their lead in stoppage time when Bowen denied Lily Billingham.
But the Bluebirds had to settle for just one which was enough to book their place in the final against Wrexham at Rodney Parade on Sunday 27 April, as they aim to lift the Bute Energy Welsh Cup for the fourth consecutive season.
