Cymru dominate against Gibraltar in Wrexham

Cymru 4-0 Gibraltar

  • Cymru dominate international challenge match
  • Page hands debuts to four players
  • Moore scores twice with Davies and Broadhead also on scoresheet
  • UEFA European Qualifier against Croatia is next for Cymru

The international challenge match at Stōk Cae Ras in Wrexham was a useful run out for Rob Page’s Cymru ahead of the European Qualifier against Croatia on Sunday at Cardiff City Stadium.

The match provided Page with an opportunity to take a look at the players who will be hoping to put themselves in contention for a starting position for the remainder of the campaign to reach EURO 2024. Debuts were handed to Liam Cullen, Regan Poole, Charlie Savage and Joe Low.

It was a familiar name for Cymru who broke the deadlock in a game that the home team controlled throughout. Ben Davies headed in the first goal from Nathan Broadhead’s corner kick.

The lead was doubled soon after with Kieffer Moore also scoring with his head following an assist from Savage.

Cymru scored twice more with Dan James setting up Nathan Broadhead, who curled a lovely shot into the back of the net before Moore headed in his second goal.

Croatia are Cymru’s next opponents in a qualifying match for EURO 2024 in Cardiff on Sunday (15 October).
