Cymru squad announced for Norway and Portugal

Craig Bellamy has announced a 26-player squad as Cymru prepare to face Norway and Portugal in the final matches of this year’s UEFA Nations League group stage.

Cymru welcome back several players who were unavailable for the four-match international window across September and October, including Harry Wilson, Joe Rodon and Karl Darlow. Goalkeeper Joe Duncan has also received his first senior team call-up.

Bellamy’s side will travel to Oslo to face Norway at the Ullevaal Stadium on Saturday 14 November (KO 5pm GMT) before returning home to a sell-out crowd at the Cardiff City Stadium for the match against Portugal on Tuesday 17 November (KO 7:45pm).

Cymru currently sit in third place in their League A group with two games remaining, after goals from Dan James and Neco Williams secured three points in a 2-1 win against Norway in Cardiff last month, Cymru’s first ever League A win. The reverse fixture against two-times UEFA Nations League winners Portugal was a narrow 1-0 defeat in Lisbon in the opening match of the campaign.

Bellamy’s side are still in contention to finish in second, third, or fourth spot, all of which could have an impact on what comes next for Cymru.

As a League A team, achieving a top two finish in the group would see Cymru progress to the quarter-finals that will take place in March 2027. The four quarter-final winners will then progress to the Nations League finals which will take place in June 2027 and will be hosted by one of the competing nations.

Finishing third would mean a relegation play-off against a team from League B also in March, while finishing bottom of the group would result in either a relegation play-off or direct relegation, depending on ranking with other League A groups, ahead of the next edition of the competition.

Cymru: Karl DARLOW (Manchester United), Danny WARD (Wrexham), Joe DUNCAN (Southend United, on loan from Bristol City), Jay DASILVA (Coventry City), Jayden LIENOU (Leeds United), Ben DAVIES (Tottenham Hotspur), Chris MEPHAM (West Bromwich Albion), Joe RODON (Leeds United), Ben CABANGO (Swansea City), Neco WILLIAMS (Nottingham Forest), Connor ROBERTS (Burnley), Ethan AMPADU (Leeds United), Josh SHEEHAN (Bolton Wanderers), Kai ANDREWS (Oxford United, on loan from Coventry City), Rubin COLWILL (Cardiff City), Joel COLWILL (Cardiff City), Harry WILSON (Leeds United), Liam CULLEN (Leicester City), Cian ASHFORD (Cardiff City), Brennan JOHNSON (Everton), Sorba THOMAS (Hull City), Lewis KOUMAS (Liverpool), Kieffer MOORE (Wrexham), Mark HARRIS (Oxford United), Dan JAMES (Leeds United), David BROOKS (Bournemouth).
