Cymru U21 squad announced for Iceland & Denmark qualifiers

Matty Jones has named his Cymru U21 squad for the upcoming UEFA U21 European Championship qualifying double-header against Iceland and Denmark in Newport.

Jones has selected a 23-player squad for Cymru’s first home fixtures of the qualifying campaign at Rodney Parade.

Charlie Savage and Joe Low are named in the squad after making their senior debuts against Gibraltar in the last window, while Luke Harris and Owen Beck are also included following their call ups to Rob Page’s squad in September.

Ronnie Hollingshead, Matt Baker, Eli King, Charlie Crew, Joe Taylor and Chris Popov are the other changes to the squad from the September window.

Jones’ side welcome Iceland on Thursday 16 November (6pm KO), before they take on Denmark for the second time in the campaign four days later on Monday 20 November (6pm KO).

Cymru sit second in Group I after earning a 2-2 draw with top seeds Denmark, a 3-2 victory over Lithuania and a late 1-1 draw with Czechia in their last outing in September.

Tickets for the qualifiers are available to purchase at faw.cymru/tickets, while both matches will be available to watch on Sgorio.
