Four clubs will compete for a place in the Dragon Signs Amateur Trophy Final on Saturday 22 March, with all four semi-finalists looking to win the competition for the first time.
Fourth-tier Port Talbot Town take on Trearddur Bay at Park Avenue in Aberystwyth (KO 12:00), and after eliminating FC Bonymaen, Birchgrove Colts, Pontarddulais Town and Llangeinor in the early rounds, Richie Ryan’s side needed penalties to see off the challenge of Connah’s Quay Town in Round 4 following a 0-0 draw on Deeside.
Their reward was a home tie against FC Cwmaman in the quarter-final, and despite being two goals ahead against ten-men, the visitors pulled the game back to draw 2-2 and take the match to penalties. Jordan Edwards, Michael Morris, captain Ceri Williams and Warren Hudson proved to be the heroes of the Steelmen as they booked their place in the last four with a 4-2 shoot-out victory.
Trearddur Bay play one level above their opponents and currently sit sixth in the Ardal North West. Their path to the semi-finals has been smoother with all six rounds being decided in normal time, and all being played at home. Caergybi, Gwalchmai, Penmaenmawr Phoenix, Ynyshir Albions, Llanwchllyn and Brickfield Rangers have all tried and failed to stop Mel McGuinness’s side, who have scored 24 goals to reach this stage of the competition.

Experienced Trearddur Bay duo Les Davies and Sion Edwards were both part of the successful Bangor City side that defeated Port Talbot Town 3-2 in the JD Welsh Cup Final back in 2010. Davies was sent off in the 5-0 victory over Penmaenmawr Phoenix in Round 2 back in October last year, and despite turning 40 during the current campaign, the legendary JD Cymru Premier striker has 16 goals to his name this season.
The second semi-final takes place at Latham Park in Newtown, as Penygraig United meet Llanrwst United (KO 12:00). After scoring 11 goals against Rhos United and Cemaes Bay in the opening rounds, Llanrwst United needed penalties to see off the challenge of Holyhead Hotspur in Round 2. The side from the Ardal North West continued their path to the semi-finals with victories over Nantlle Vale, Bethesda Athletic and Goytre AFC. Julian Williams has been their top scorer in the competition with season with seven goals.
The lowest-ranked team left in the competition, Penygraig United of the sixth tier, began their campaign with a resounding 9-1 win over Penygraig BGC Seniors, with Tai Watts scoring four goals in the process. Further victories over Cardiff Airport, Dinas Powys, Bridgend Street and West End followed prior to meeting Bow Street in the quarter-final. Mitchel Hathaway scored for Penygraig United in the 1-1 draw, before penalties from Josh Phillips, Ian Smith, Jordan Cicigoi and Conor Edwards sealed their place in the semi-finals.
Tickets for both semi-finals will only be available to buy on the gate (cash and card), costing £3 for adults and £1 for concessions.
