The Football Association of Wales is sad to learn about the recent passing of former Cymru defender Dudley Lewis.
Lewis was capped once by Cymru in a match against Brazil at Ninian Park, Cardiff during June 1983. Cymru drew the game 1-1 with Lewis swapping his shirt with Brazilian legend Socrates.
At club level, Lewis made 300 appearances for Swansea City and helped them to their famous promotion to Division One of the English Football League (now the English Premier League).
During the 90s, Lewis also had a brief spell at Wrexham before finishing his career in the League of Wales (now the JD Cymru Premier) at Carmarthen Town following some time with Inter Cardiff.
The thoughts of everyone at the FAW are with the family and friends of Dudley Lewis.
