Future of Welsh football to be showcased at Cymru Cup

The 2024 Cymru Cup takes place at Colliers Park this week and will showcase Cymru’s future potential talent.

Players involved in the Cymru Cup, which takes place from Tuesday 23 July to Wednesday 24 July, are part of the FAW’s regional programme. The programme is based in both north and south Wales and involves training days and matches across a two-year period, ending with the Cymru Cup competition.

There are three teams (Team Ampadu, Team Ramsey and Team James) made up of players representing Licenced FAW Academies in Wales, as well as talent selected from a number of clubs in the English football system.

Jordan James and Ben Woodburn are among former players who featured in the Cymru Cup before going on to feature for the senior national team.
