It is with great sadness that the Football Association of Wales shares the news that George Baker has sadly passed away at the age of 88.
Baker was a member of the squad for the 1958 FIFA World Cup, where Cymru reached the quarter final stage, and was present for the 2022 FIFA World Cup squad announcement, which took place at his home village of Tylorstown.
As a winger and centre forward, Baker played for Plymouth Argyle, Shrewsbury Town and Barry Town at club level.
