Golf, injuries and comebacks with Esther Morgan and Hannah Cain

In the fourth episode of The Cwtsh, connected by EE, Cymru stars Esther Morgan and Hannah Cain sit down for a heartfelt conversation about recovery, resilience, and the strength of support as they prepare for UEFA Women’s EURO 2025.

Golf Shots, Laughter & Life in Camp

The episode kicks off with plenty of laughs as the duo reflect on the squad’s not-so-serious golf competition. From wild tee shots to missed swings, it’s a glimpse into the light-hearted moments that bond the team away from competitive fixtures. Esther and Hannah share stories from camp life, downtime activities, and the routines that keep spirits high.

Messages from Home: The Heart of Y Wal Goch

In a moving first segment, Esther and Hannah react to surprise messages of support sent from across Wales — and beyond. From school pupils, local grassroots clubs, to members of the Red Wall, the messages highlight the pride and passion of the Welsh football family.

Notable figures such as Laura McAllister, Jamie Roberts, and Gwennan Harries also share their support, showing just how far the team’s journey has reached.

“We’re one of the smallest countries in the competition but have sold the second or third most tickets — which is unreal,” says Cain.

“The Welsh support and passion is huge, and we are so grateful — not just for the support back home, but from fans everywhere,” adds Morgan.

A Night to Remember: Dublin Glory

In the second segment of the episode, both players reflect on that historic night in Dublin — when Cain slotted home the winning penalty that sent Cymru to their first-ever major tournament.

They discuss the celebrations, the team bond, and how that moment became a turning point in their belief and ambition as a squad.

Overcoming Setbacks: The Road Back from Injury

As the episode draws to a close, Cain and Morgan open up about their injury journeys. Esther talks about her recovery from a serious ankle injury, while Hannah shares her experience of returning from a second ACL setback.

They also speak candidly about the physical and emotional toll of being sidelined, the support that kept them going, and the drive to return stronger — all with the dream of representing Cymru on the biggest stage at EURO 2025.

Connecting Cymru

This series celebrates connectivity, not just technologically through EE’s network, but emotionally, through heartfelt messages from loved ones, video questions from children across Wales, and those everyday moments of laughter and togetherness that show that Cymru and Y Wal Goch are bonded like no others.

At its core, The Cwtsh connected by EE is a celebration of Welsh identity, team culture, and national pride. It brings fans closer to the squad than ever before, turning every message, laugh, and tear into a part of a shared journey.

Whether you’re supporting from a classroom in Caerphilly, a living room in Llanelli, or a café in Caernarfon, The Cwtsh makes sure you’re right there with the team in Switzerland.
