JD Welsh Cup: Caerau Ely v Connah’s Quay Nomads selected for live S4C coverage

The JD Welsh Cup Quarter-Final tie between Caerau Ely and Connah’s Quay Nomads has been selected for live Sgorio coverage by S4C.

The fixture at Cwrt-yr-Ala will kick off at 12:45pm on Sunday 16 February and will be available to watch on S4C, S4C Clic and Sgorio’s YouTube and Facebook pages.

JD Cymru South side Caerau Ely have earned a reputation as giant killers in this season’s competition, already knocking out top-flight sides Barry Town United and Bala Town to reach the quarter-finals for the first time in their history.

It has been a theme in what has been a remarkable campaign in the JD Welsh Cup, with the Young Guns standing as one of six second tier sides still remaining. The Nomads are one of just two from the JD Cymru Premier, along with The New Saints.

The Flintshire outfit, who are the current holders of the competition, have reached the last eight courtesy of wins over Guilsfield, Trefelin and Mold Alexandra.
