Cambrian United v Penybont (Friday, 7:45pm)
Having already knocked two top-flight sides out of the Nathaniel MG Cup this season, Cambrian United will aim for another upset – this time in the JD Welsh Cup – when they host Penybont on Friday night.
The Rhondda side, who reached the semi-finals of this competition last season, are currently two points clear at the top of the JD Cymru South after winning 10 of their opening 14 league games of the campaign. They earned an emphatic 6-0 victory away at Goytre United in the last round.

Penybont currently sit second in the JD Cymru Premier, nine points behind leaders The New Saints. With boss Rhys Griffiths setting a clear target for silverware at the start of the season, this competition stands as their best chance of that and they kicked off their cup campaign with a 5-0 win away at Briton Ferry Llansawel.
The last time these two sides met was also in Round Three of the JD Welsh Cup in 2021/22, when Nathan Wood’s brace inspired Penybont to a 3-1 win in the Rhondda.
Llandudno v Connah’s Quay Nomads (Friday, 7:45pm)
Two of the most in-form sides in the country meet on Friday night as JD Cymru North leaders Llandudno host Connah’s Quay Nomads of the top-flight.
Llandudno, currently on a 10-match winning streak, are yet to lose a game in 90 minutes in any competition this season. The Seasiders are currently a point clear at the top of the JD Cymru North, while they have also reached the semi-finals of the Nathaniel MG Cup. Having triumphed 3-0 over Flint Mountain in the last round of this competition, they are now targeting a place in Round Four for the first time in seven years.

Two-time JD Welsh Cup winners Connah’s Quay have won six of their last seven matches in all competitions, scoring at least three goals in all of those games. A 3-0 away win at Bala Town kicked off their cup campaign, as manager John Disney aims to get his hands on a trophy that he won once as a player.
The Nomads are unbeaten in their last four clashes with Llandudno, with the two sides’ most recent encounter coming in the Nathaniel MG Cup in 2021/22 when the Flintshire side triumphed 2-0.
Glynneath Town v Trearddur Bay (Saturday, 2pm)
The lowest-ranked side left in this season’s JD Welsh Cup are fifth tier Glynneath Town, who host third tier side Trearddur Bay on Saturday afternoon.
Glynneath are yet to lose in 90 minutes in any competition this season and currently sit seventh in the Neath & District League Premier Division – with plenty of games in hand over sides above them.
Glynneath Town relishing JD Welsh Cup run
Nicknamed ‘The Germans’, they kicked off their JD Welsh Cup campaign all the way back in July and have already beaten Cardiff Corinthians, Margam Youth Centre, Tredegar Town and Garden Village to reach this stage for the first time in their history.
Trearddur Bay make the long trip down south off the back of four consecutive wins in league and cup. Campbell Harrison’s side currently sit fifth in the Ardal North West, while in the JD Welsh Cup they have so far beaten Llangefni Town, Berriew and Broughton United to reach Round Three for the second consecutive season – but they have never made it further.
Bangor City 1876 v Holywell Town (Saturday, 2pm)
Two sides flying high in their respective leagues meet on Saturday as Bangor City 1876 host Holywell Town.
Bangor are yet to lose in any competition this season, as they aim to bounce back from a shock relegation from the JD Cymru North in 2024/25. Mike Johnston’s side are currently second in the Ardal North West, with eight wins from 10 games, while they have beaten Mochdre Sports, Conwy Borough Swifts, St Asaph City and second tier Guilsfield in the JD Welsh Cup so far.

Holywell are currently second in the JD Cymru North after winning 10 of their opening 14 league games of the campaign. Following a narrow 3-2 victory over fourth tier Rhostyllen in the last round, Johnny Haseldin’s side are aiming to reach Round Four for only the second time in the last decade.
The two sides last met in the JD Cymru North exactly a year ago, when Jamie Breese’s brace saw Holywell come from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw at the Bangor City Stadium.
Carmarthen Town v Colwyn Bay (Saturday, 6:15pm)
The live Sgorio fixture in Round Three comes from the LHP Stadium, where Carmarthen Town host Colwyn Bay on Saturday evening.
Carmarthen, winners of the JD Welsh Cup in 2007, currently sit fourth in the JD Cymru South – a point outside the promotion spots. Mark Aizlewood’s side, who won 5-1 against Trethomas Bluebirds in the last round, have only lost once at home in any competition in the last 12 months.
Carmarthen Town v Colwyn Bay
Colwyn Bay are enjoying a strong campaign back in the JD Cymru Premier, with the Seagulls currently placing fifth in the table. A 5-0 home win over fourth tier Kinmel Bay saw them avoid an upset in the previous round of the cup and they are now aiming to reach Round Four for the third consecutive season.
This will be the first ever meeting between the two sides, although Bay manager Mike Wilde will have fond memories of coming up against Carmarthen in the JD Welsh Cup as he was part of the TNS side that triumphed over the Old Gold in the 2005 final.
