JD Welsh Cup: Llanelli Town v Penybont selected for live broadcast by S4C

The JD Welsh Cup third round tie between Llanelli Town and Penybont at Stebonheath has been selected for live Sgorio coverage by S4C.

The game has been moved to Friday 10 November (KO 19:45) and will be available to watch on Sgorio’s online platforms and your smart TV.

Llanelli won the JD Welsh Cup in 2011, having finished as runners-up twice before in 1914 and 2008. The Reds are currently third in the JD Cymru South table and targeting a return to the top-flight.

Meanwhile, Penybont have never won the competition but reached the final at the Cardiff City Stadium in 2022 before making it to the semi-finals last season. Rhys Griffiths’ team are currently seventh in the JD Cymru Premier.

Griffiths and Bont striker Chris Venables both scored in Llanelli’s 4-1 win over Bangor City in the 2011 final at Parc y Scarlets.

Both clubs earned comfortable wins in round two earlier this month, with Llanelli winning 4-0 against Llantwit Major and Penybont triumphing 3-0 over Cwmbran Celtic.
