Pontypridd's Eliza Keane scores and celebrates 0-3 during the 2024/245 Bute Energy U16s Cup Semi Final fixture between The New Saints Girls U16s and Pontypridd United Girls U16s at Latham Park, Newtown, Wales.

Pontypridd United and Cardiff Wanderers will compete in the 2024/25 Bute Energy U16s Cup Final following semi-final wins on Sunday afternoon.

Current cup holders Cardiff Wanderers continued their defence of the trophy with a 3-1 win over Porth Harlequins at the CCB Centre For Sporting Excellence

However, they had to come from behind to do so as it was Porth who took the lead in Ystrad Mynach as Scarlet Darch scored inside the opening minute.

Lexie Youdall got Wanderers back on level terms in the 17th minute, before second half goals from Elan Hall and Aimee Cake completed the turnaround and sealed victory.

Latham Park in Newtown was the venue for the second semi-final as Pontypridd United emerged as 4-2 winners against The New Saints.

Dragons captain Eliza Keane continued her record of scoring in every round of this season’s competition by breaking the deadlock in first half stoppage time, before completing a hat-trick in the first 16 minutes of the second period.

A brace from TNS skipper Grace Thomas put her side on the comeback trail, but a late finish from Libby Emanuel made sure of Ponty’s place in the final.

The 2024/25 Bute Energy U16s Cup Final will be played on Sunday 13 April, with the venue and kick-off time to be confirmed in due course.
