This season’s Dragon Signs Amateur Trophy final will be an all-south Wales affair between Port Talbot Town and Penygraig United after both sides caused upsets in the semi-finals.
Fourth tier Port Talbot stunned Ardal North West side Trearddur Bay with a 3-1 win at Park Avenue thanks to a brace from Jordan Edwards.
The 31-year-old opened the scoring in the 21st minute and that remained the difference for most of the match, until substitute Aidan Chappell smith doubled the advantage on 81 minutes. The Steelmen were in dreamland when Edwards bagged his second of the afternoon four minutes later, while Joe Chaplin’s stoppage time finish was only a consolation for Trearddur Bay.

But that result would not even be the biggest shock of the day. Over at Latham Park, sixth tier Penygraig United triumphed 1-0 over Llanrwst United of the Ardal North East.
The decisive moment came after just 11 minutes, as Tai Watts bagged his eighth goal in eight games in the Dragon Signs Amateur Trophy this season. The Rhondda outfit defended superbly to hold on to their lead and are now just one step away from a remarkable cup triumph.
The 2024/25 Dragon Signs Amateur Trophy final will be held on 18/19 April at a venue to be confirmed.
