Statement: West Wales Women and Girls League

The Football Association of Wales would like to provide clarification following a statement issued by the West Wales Women & Girls League (WWWGL) that was published to their social media channels on 13 September.

The statement from the WWWGL implies that it has been suspended as a result of an FAW ruling. For clarity, the FAW has not suspended the league.

An FAW Disciplinary Panel met on 12 September to consider an appeal lodged by Morriston Town AFC Women against the decision of the WWWGL to refuse the team entry into the WWWGL for the season 2023/24.

The Panel heard evidence from both parties and considered the WWWGL Rules and the relevant FAW Rules. The Panel allowed the appeal by Morriston Town AFC Women and directed the WWWGL admit the club to the league for the 2023/24 season with immediate effect.

Both parties have a right of appeal against the decision of the FAW Disciplinary Panel.
