Cymru men’s matches to be shown on BBC Wales

Liam Cullen celebrates scoring a goal for Wales as fans will be able to watch free coverage of the men's national team on BBC One Wales.

BBC Cymru Wales have confirmed the rights to televise Cymru’s upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers, providing free-to-air coverage of the matches to Welsh fans across the country. 

Craig Bellamy’s Cymru National Team begin their qualification campaign at home against Kazakhstan in Cardiff on Saturday, 22 March, before going to North Macedonia on Tuesday, 25 March. 

Noel Mooney, Chief Executive of the FAW, said: “As we approach an exciting World Cup qualification campaign with Craig Bellamy at the helm, the Football Association of Wales is looking forward to working with BBC Cymru Wales, on their free-to-air coverage of the Cymru Men’s National Team.

“It’s fantastic that every Welsh fan will be able to watch our matches for free via the BBC’s fantastic coverage.”

Rhuanedd Richards, director BBC Cymru Wales, said: “I’m absolutely delighted that we’ve signed a deal to bring the action from Wales’ matches to our screens.

“Craig Bellamy and the Cymru squad are about to start a brand new campaign and I’m so pleased that BBC Cymru Wales will be with them all the way, bringing international football to fans across the nation.”

All matches will be shown on BBC One Wales. 

Welsh language coverage continues

As part of the new rights deal, S4C will continue to show Cymru’s matches live with Welsh language commentary, demonstrating the continued importance of the language to our national identity.

This provides all Welsh fans with the fantastic choice of watching Cymru on free-to-air television with a choice of Welsh or English commentary.
