Inspire Cymru with Your Poetry

This National Poetry Day (3rd October) the Football Association of Wales have joined Literature Wales to launch a call out to the children of Wales to write short poems to support Cymru in their first ever UEFA Women’s EURO play-offs.

It is hoped the poems will inspire the Cymru players and show them how inspiring they are, whilst celebrating the power of women and girls in football.

Visit Literature Wales’ website for full details of the brief and to learn more about the Cymru National team, along with other artists who have been inspired by them.

The theme is ‘For Her’, and the poem should be 12 lines or fewer. They can be written in Welsh or English, or any other languages by children up to 16 years old.

Please send the poem to pel-droed@llenyddiaethcymru.org by Thursday 17 October, with the details of the child’s first name, age and either the name of the village/town/city where they live or the school they go to.

Cymru fans and the Red Wall play a key part in Cymru’s games and it is hoped fans will be out in their numbers for the play-off semi-final.
